Description

PhishWall Client Firefox and Chrome edition for Windows provided by SecureBrain Corporation is an anti-phishing and anti-MITB software. The installer of PhishWall Client Firefox and Chrome edition for Windows contains an issue with the DLL search path, which may lead to insecurely loading Dynamic Link Libraries (CWE-427).

Impact

Arbitrary code may be executed with the privilege of the user invoking the installer.

Solution

Use the latest installer
Use the latest installer according to the information provided by the developer.
According to the developer, users of Windows 7 must first apply Windows 7 security patch (KB2533623), and then use the latest installer to install the software.
Users who already have installed PhishWall Client Firefox and Chrome edition for Windows, do not need to re-install the application, because this issue affects the installer only.
