Adoption of new CVE numbering format for identifying vulnerabilities

The numbering format for CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), which is maintained by The MITRE Coporation (US), was changed in 2014 to be able to issue more than 10,000 identifiers in a single year. For more details, please refer to the press releases by JPCERT/CC and The MITRE Corporation.
