Description
The installer of "FLET'S VIRUS CLEAR Easy Setup & Application Tool" and "FLET'S VIRUS CLEAR v6 Easy Setup & Application Tool" provided by NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE EAST CORPORATION contains an issue with the DLL search path, which may lead to insecurely loading Dynamic Link Libraries.
Impact
Arbitrary code may be executed with the privilege of the user invoking the installer.
Solution
Use the latest installer
This vulnerability has been already addressed in the latest version (ver.12) released in 2018 March 28.
When installing "FLET'S VIRUS CLEAR Easy Setup & Application Tool" and/or "FLET'S VIRUS CLEAR v6 Easy Setup & Application Tool", use the latest installer according to the information provided by the developer.
If the old version of "FLET'S VIRUS CLEAR Easy Setup & Application Tool" and/or "FLET'S VIRUS CLEAR v6 Easy Setup & Application Tool" obtained from the website before 2017 March 28 resides in your computer, delete it immediately.
Note that this vulnerability affects the installer only, thus users who have already installed "FLET'S VIRUS CLEAR Easy Setup & Application Tool" and/or "FLET'S VIRUS CLEAR v6 Easy Setup & Application Tool" do not need to re-install the software using the latest installer.
